Teacher Tapp announced that most teachers believe pupil interest in learning is the area most likely to improve due to technology. This announcement was made on its website on March 28.

According to a survey conducted by Teacher Tapp, 33% of elementary school teachers, 38% of middle school teachers, and 25% of high school teachers anticipate that technology will enhance pupil interest in learning over the next three years. This suggests a moderate level of optimism among educators, particularly at the middle school level, regarding technology's role in engaging students. However, expectations for technology to improve other aspects of education remain low.

A separate survey by the Pew Research Center in fall 2023 revealed that only 6% of U.S. public K-12 teachers believe that using artificial intelligence (AI) tools in education does more good than harm. In contrast, 25% feel AI tools are more harmful than beneficial, while 32% see an equal mix of benefit and harm. Additionally, 35% were unsure about the impact of AI tools, indicating significant uncertainty and skepticism among educators regarding the integration of AI in classrooms.

In Massachusetts, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is advancing the use of educational technology (edtech) to enhance learning experiences and promote equity across K–12 schools. Through its updated EdTech Strategic Planning Guide, the state supports schools in providing all students with access to modern tools, personalized instruction, and real-world interactive learning. With goals focused on expanding equitable access, promoting effective tech use, and leveraging innovation, the initiative aims to ensure every student is known, valued, and supported in achieving grade-level success and beyond.
