Tierney, expressed his viewpoints on issues ranging from immigration enforcement to the handling of classified information and civil liberties.
On March 25, 2025, Moulton criticized the potential policy of sharing taxpayer information with the Department of Homeland Security for immigration enforcement. He stated, "Sharing taxpayer information with DHS for immigration enforcement would undermine confidentiality, erode trust, and discourage compliance, especially among immigrants." Moulton further expressed concern over the broader implications of such actions by Trump and President Elon, noting they are targeting more than just migrants.
Later on the same day, Moulton posted another tweet condemning Pete Hegseth's actions regarding classified information. He remarked, "There are no excuses for Pete Hegseth’s reckless mishandling of classified information or his complete lack of accountability afterward."
On March 28, 2025, Moulton brought attention to the arrest and detention of a Tufts student, Rumeysa Ozturk, in a separate tweet. He explained, "My colleagues and I are demanding an explanation for the disturbing arrest and detention of Tufts student Rumeysa Ozturk." Emphasizing the significance of the issue, he criticized the administration's actions as dictatorial and urged Americans who value free speech to take notice.
