Rep. Jake Auchincloss, a U.S. Congressman representing Massachusetts' 4th district since 2021, recently shared several controversial statements on social media. His tweets addressed various topics, including drug development and infectious disease research, skepticism regarding the events of September 11, and claims about COVID-19's impact on different ethnic groups.

On January 29, 2025, Rep. Auchincloss criticized an unnamed individual for wanting to halt the development of new medicines for cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. He stated that this person described these medicines as "pharmaceutical poison" and had pledged to give drug development and infectious disease research a "little bit of a break" for eight years. The full tweet can be found here.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Rep. Auchincloss expressed his views about someone he referred to as a "9/11 skeptic." He mentioned that this individual claimed during an appearance on "In The Room With Peter Bergen" that they did not fully believe Al Qaeda was responsible for the attacks. This statement is available here.

Additionally, Rep. Auchincloss recounted remarks made at a dinner in New York City concerning COVID-19. According to his tweet, it was claimed that the virus was “ethnically targeted” to affect Caucasians and Black people more severely while suggesting that Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese individuals were “most immune.” The details of this claim can be viewed here.
