FOIA Request Sent to Massachusetts State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024

FOIA Request to Massachusetts State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Bay State News have sent a request under the Massachusetts Public Records Act § 66-10 et seq. to the Massachusetts State Board of Education. The request specifically seeks a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and/or general instruction.

As media professionals, we believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We have therefore requested a fee waiver as a media professional in this endeavor.

Our goal is to ensure that the public is well-informed about the educational mandates in place for K-12 schools across the state. This information will not only help parents understand what their children are learning but also hold educational institutions accountable for delivering on these mandates.

We await a response from the Massachusetts State Board of Education and will keep our readers updated with any developments regarding this request.
