Stonehill College students can now take advantage of Assumption University’s recently announced post-bachelor’s accelerated nursing track thanks to an affiliation agreement between the schools. Designed for individuals who have completed a bachelor's or graduate degree in a non-nursing discipline, the hybrid, 16-month long track is administered via the Assumption University Froelich School of Nursing.
The agreement provides for a seamless application process for Stonehill students who meet the admission requirements for Assumption’s accelerated nursing track. Interested Stonehill students must demonstrate completion of a bachelor’s degree from Stonehill or provide notification from a Stonehill official that all criteria for graduation are met but the degree has not yet been conferred, in which case the graduation date must be included in the application. No application fee, essay, or letters of recommendation are required.
“Our affiliation with Stonehill on our post-bachelor’s accelerated nursing track could not have come at a better time,” said Caitlin M. Stover, RN, Ph.D., and Dean of the Froelich School of Nursing.
“In Massachusetts alone, we’re seeing a shortfall of more than 5,000 nurses, according to the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association. Severe staffing shortages negatively impact patients, cause burnout with existing staff and are costly for hospitals who are forced to employ short-term staff at higher rates. We’re thrilled to team with Stonehill and to do our part to not only help improve the health care system, but to also be able to deliver an affordable and high-quality program for adult learners.”
The post-bachelor’s accelerated nursing track starts June 5, 2023. For more information about this new nursing track, please visit https://www.assumption.edu/undergraduate/post-bachelors-accelerated-nursing-track.
