PERKINS NAMED HEAD WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY COACH

The Anna Maria College Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Zachary Perkins as their new head women's ice hockey coach.

"I could not be more excited for the opportunity to join and lead the Anna Maria Women's Hockey Program." Perkins said of taking the reigns of the program. "I am grateful for Athletic Director Joe Brady, President Mary Lou Retelle and the search committee for offering me the opportunity to work with this group of student athletes."

Perkins had spent the last five seasons as an assistant coach for the AMCAT men's ice hockey team.

"I would also like to thank head coach Dave McCauley and the entire Men's Hockey program at Anna Maria for the opportunity to learn and grow as an individual and a coach. I am confident the team in place is excited and ready to continue to build on their previous successes while still having the hunger to strive for better."

In addition to his work with the Anna Maria men's team, Perkins has also served as the Director of Goaltender Development for Stop-It Goaltending, and has been an assistant coach at East Longmeadow High School.

"Zach is a great addition to our athletic department and campus community. I am looking forward to watching the program continue to develop under his leadership." commented Joe Brady '96, Director of Athletics.  "Throughout the search process Zach established himself as a strong candidate for the women's ice hockey program. His time with the men's program and on our campus has prepared him well to lead our women's ice program. He has a clear vision and plan and I am excited for him to get started."

Perkins is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University.
