Head coach Jason Dowiak and the University of Massachusetts women’s soccer program announced on June 1 the addition of six new players for the 2026 season. The incoming class includes Monica Curry, Maelyn Foley, Catalina Mangone, Martina Sanz Bravo, Sophie Skabeikis, and Reilly Tassinari.

Monica Curry joins as a midfielder from Vernon Township High School in New Jersey. She is Sussex County and her high school’s all-time leading scorer and holds records for single-season goals and assists. Curry was named to several all-conference teams and earned academic honors in multiple honor societies. Curry said, “I chose UMass because I felt at home the moment I visited the campus and met the team and coaches. I love the sense of community, and I’m excited to be part of this program while studying at such an amazing university.”

Maelyn Foley arrives as a defender from Hanover High School in Massachusetts with plans to major in biology on a pre-med track. She is a four-year varsity starter who has received multiple league honors, including Patriot League All-Star recognitions and First Team All-State status. Foley said, “I chose UMass for the opportunity to learn at its excellent biology program and also to be part of an amazing soccer program that I have been able to watch firsthand over the past couple of years.”

Catalina Mangone will play as a defender after competing with Mount Olive High School in New Jersey. Mangone has been recognized with Second Team All-Conference honors, participated in national finals competitions with her club team STA 2008 GA, and is active in several honor societies. She said she chose UMass because “of the people and the environment” she experienced during her visit.

Martina Sanz Bravo comes from Madrid’s Colegio Internacional Kolbe as a forward who played for Atlético de Madrid’s youth teams. She was league top scorer for four consecutive seasons, served five years as team captain, helped secure multiple league titles, and competed at Spain’s regional level tournaments.

Sophie Skabeikis joins from St. Mary’s High School in Nahant as a forward intending to major in public health sciences; she holds school scoring records along with several state-level accolades, including being named CCL MVP.

Reilly Tassinari rounds out the class as a midfielder from North Reading High School who plans to study social and behavioral sciences; she brings experience winning national championships with NEFC 08 Navy GA club team.

The new signings reflect both athletic achievements across regional competitions as well as strong academic backgrounds.
