Two members of the University of Massachusetts softball team earned Academic All-District honors, as announced by the College Sports Communicators organization on May 26. Lily Woodworth and Brooke Musch were selected for their combined efforts on the field and in the classroom.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District softball teams, chosen by College Sports Communicators, recognize student-athletes who have excelled both academically and athletically. To be eligible for this recognition, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have participated in at least 90 percent of all games during the season.
Woodworth, from Glastonbury, Connecticut, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She started all 49 games at second base during the season, collecting 32 hits, eight doubles, ten runs batted in (RBIs), and scoring eighteen runs. Woodworth achieved multiple hits in six games and registered career highs with five assists against North Florida and five putouts against Florida Atlantic. Defensively, she posted a .958 fielding percentage with eighty-two putouts and seventy-nine assists.
Musch hails from Camden, New York, and is earning her degree in kinesiology. She also started all 49 games this season as centerfielder. Musch recorded forty-four hits—including five doubles, five triples, one home run—eighteen RBIs, nineteen walks, thirty runs scored and sixty-two total bases with a slash line of .293/.380/.413. She stole twenty-three bases out of twenty-six attempts—ranking tenth-most for a single season in program history—and had hits in twenty-eight games including twelve multi-hit contests. In addition to three-hit performances four times this year, Musch registered eighty-seven putouts with only one error for a .989 fielding percentage overall; she maintained a perfect fielding record during conference play.
The recognition highlights both players’ achievements throughout the academic year.
