Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement.
4Cs to Host a “Workforce Training Fund Program Information Session”
Cape Cod Community College is supporting local employers by hosting a Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP) information session at The Center for Corporate and Professional Education (CCAPE) at 540 Main Street in Hyannis on March 20 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. The event will be held in partnership with Cape and Islands Workforce Board and the Workforce Training Fund.
The goal of the WTFP is to improve employee skills and empower employers to maintain their economic strength and viability. Organizations interested in improving productivity and competitiveness, increasing employee retention rates, and enhancing revenue generation can apply for grant funding through the program. The WTFP awarded over $20 million in grants across the Commonwealth in 2019 to eligible employers who contributed to unemployment insurance.
“Employers are strongly encouraged to attend this information session to learn more about how to access this funding,” said Tammi Jacobsen, Director of Workforce Development and Training at The Center for Corporate and Professional Education at Cape Cod Community College. “Research consistently shows that employers who invest in their workforce through training programs have less turnover, higher employee retention rates, and healthier bottom lines. The WTFP is an ideal way to make training accessible and affordable for local employers.”
The WFTP offers multiple grant options for employers based on their individual needs. Training programs are administered by CCAPE and include:
• General Program Training Grant for organizations of any size
• Express Program Grant for businesses with 100 or fewer employees
• Small Business Direct Access Program
Topics covered in the information session include program requirements, funding availability, and the application process. Following the information session, CCAPE will work with participants to help them determine which grants are best suited for their business needs and know how to begin the application process.
Space at the information session is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Employers seeking more information should contact Danielle Dupuis, Program Coordinator, The Center for Corporate and Professional Education at Cape Cod Community College at 508-375-5015 or ddupuis@capecod.edu to reserve their space.
