U.S. Congressman Seth Moulton, who represents Massachusetts’ 6th district, addressed his constituents and the broader public in a series of social media posts this week covering religious observance, looming healthcare concerns, and local industry.
On September 23, Moulton marked the Jewish New Year with a message to those celebrating: “Shanah Tovah to all celebrating Rosh Hashanah. Wishing you and your families health and happiness in the new year!”
Three days later, on September 26, he commented on partisan gridlock in Congress regarding federal budget negotiations. In his post, he stated: “Republicans’ refusal to work with Democrats to negotiate a bipartisan deal to avoid a shutdown means millions of Americans will soon face a healthcare tax hike in the form of skyrocketing monthly premiums. Here’s what that means for our district.”
Later that same day, Moulton turned attention to local economic contributions from coastal workers. He wrote: “It’s no coincidence that the best lobster rolls in the world come from the North Shore. Grateful for the lobstermen and women whose tireless work strengthens our coastal economy and embodies the grit and dedication that define MA-06.”
Seth Moulton has represented Massachusetts’s 6th District since 2015 after succeeding John F. Tierney. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Salem, Massachusetts in 1978, Moulton continues to reside there today. He holds degrees from Harvard University (BS) and Harvard Business School.
