A Saugus man, George Krabey, 46, has been indicted on charges related to a drug trafficking conspiracy involving counterfeit pills containing methamphetamine and fentanyl. The indictment includes eight counts: two counts of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, three counts of distribution of methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and one count of distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Krabey was initially arrested in May 2025 following an investigation that revealed his alleged involvement in selling thousands of counterfeit pills between December 2024 and April 2025. On April 22, 2025, Krabey was reportedly enroute to Salisbury to sell 4,000 counterfeit pills when he was stopped by law enforcement in Danvers. A search uncovered over two kilograms of methamphetamine pills in the vehicle.
The charges carry severe penalties. Conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute significant amounts of methamphetamine each carry a minimum sentence of ten years up to life imprisonment and substantial fines. Distribution charges carry sentences ranging from five years to life imprisonment depending on the quantity involved.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Jared A. Forget from the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Division. Support came from local police departments including Massachusetts State Police and the Revere, Saugus, and Peabody Police Departments. Assistant U.S. Attorney Samuel R. Feldman is prosecuting the case.
It is emphasized that these are allegations at this stage, and Krabey is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
