Seniors Michael Rickert and Jimmy Gilleran of the Stonehill College baseball team were named to the All-Northeast Conference (NEC) First Team, according to a May 20 announcement from the league.

The recognition is the first All-NEC honor for both Rickert and Gilleran during their time with the Skyhawks. Their selection highlights their standout performances in what was a record-setting season for Stonehill’s program at the NCAA Division I level.

Rickert, who hails from Moosic, Pennsylvania, led Stonehill with 52 runs batted in this season—the third-highest single-season total since the program joined Division I. He posted a .304 batting average over 38 games, collecting 41 hits, nine doubles, and six home runs. Over his career as a Skyhawk, Rickert recorded 54 hits, seven home runs, and drove in 59 runs. He also earned NEC Prime Performer recognition three times this season.

Gilleran, from Mansfield, Massachusetts, finished his senior year with an undefeated record of four wins across thirteen starts on the mound. He posted a team-best earned run average (ERA) of 4.50—the lowest by a starting pitcher at Stonehill since Pierce Friedman’s ERA of 3.59 in 2023—and led all pitchers on his team with 52 strikeouts over sixty-two innings pitched. His other achievements include holding opponents to a .246 batting average and earning his second career Pitcher of the Week award earlier this week.

Stonehill concluded its campaign by setting an NCAA Division I era record for single-season victories with an overall record of twenty-one wins and twenty-eight losses—including seventeen wins in NEC play against thirteen defeats.
