A Rhode Island man has pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston to charges related to the possession and intended distribution of methamphetamine. Star Sirikhom, 38, admitted to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, as well as one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Sentencing is scheduled for November 19, 2025, before U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young. Sirikhom was indicted by a federal grand jury in July 2022 along with five alleged co-conspirators.
The investigation began in 2019 into a Colombia-based money laundering organization that was suspected of handling drug proceeds for several drug trafficking groups. Surveillance at a suspected stash house revealed individuals carrying weighted bags, boxes, large trash bags, and buckets into vehicles after visiting the location.
In June 2021, authorities observed Sirikhom entering the stash house with a black backpack and leaving six minutes later with the same backpack appearing heavier. A traffic stop led to the seizure of over six kilograms of orange pills containing methamphetamine from his vehicle.
The charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in prison, at least five years of supervised release, and fines up to $10 million. Sentences are determined by a federal district court judge according to U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.
“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Jarod A. Forget, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, New England Field Division made the announcement today. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian J. Sullivan of the Narcotics & Money Laundering Unit is prosecuting the case.”
