Massachusetts ranked No. 17 in the country for per-capita credit card fraud reports in 2023.
That’s according to an analysis of Federal Trade Commission (FTC) data reported by WalletHub.
Massachusetts had 10.01 credit card fraud reports per 10,000 persons in the state.
Nationally, the FTC reported receiving 114,348 complaints of fraud in which the payment method was credit card. Those fraud complaints accounted for $246.1 million.
The FTC also reported receiving 416,582 reports of credit card identity theft in 2023.
