A new pay transparency law has taken effect, requiring businesses with 25 or more employees to include a reasonable pay range in every job posting. The requirement applies to all open positions and is part of legislation approved by lawmakers and signed into law by the Governor in 2024.

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) expressed concerns about the measure. “NFIB voiced our opposition to this policy, arguing it will result in more bureaucratic red tape and added cost for small businesses,” according to a statement from the organization.

Employers who do not comply with the new regulation will first receive a warning. Repeated violations can lead to fines of up to $1,000 for a third offense. More details on compliance are available through the state’s official guidance page.
