The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) will open a new service center in Chelsea on July 14. This new facility, located at 121 Webster Avenue, will replace the Revere Service Center, which is set to close on July 12.

Customers with registry-related business or scheduled appointments from July 14 onward will need to visit the Chelsea location. Road tests will still be conducted in Revere at the Cronin Skating Rink.

Registrar of Motor Vehicles Colleen Ogilvie said, “The new Service Center in Chelsea is the second of our three scheduled relocations planned for this year, and we are excited to welcome customers to this new location.”

The Chelsea center spans 11,740 square feet and includes several updates aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and customer experience. It features 19 customer service counters and a separate area for commercial clients. Additional upgrades include an employee wellness room and real-time indoor air quality monitoring.

The RMV has been working towards creating an industry-leading environment for its customers and partners. The goal is to ensure improved accessibility, efficient customer intake, sustainable construction practices, and an overall enhanced design.

Customers are encouraged to use the RMV’s Online Service Center for various transactions such as renewing licenses or registrations and scheduling appointments when necessary. More information can be found on Mass.Gov/RMV.
