A Mexican national has been sentenced in Boston for illegally reentering the United States after being deported. Luis Fernando Lara Uribe, aged 49, received a sentence of one year and one day in prison from U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young. Following his prison term, Lara Uribe will face deportation.
In April 2025, Lara Uribe admitted guilt to a charge of unlawful reentry of a deported alien. Records show that he had been deported five times previously, with the last removal occurring in February 2015. After this removal, he unlawfully returned to the United States.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert E. Richardson from the Major Crimes Unit.
