Rep. Jake Auchincloss, who represents Massachusetts’ 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address concerns about tariffs affecting local manufacturers and issues within the pharmaceutical supply chain.

On September 5, 2025, Auchincloss highlighted challenges faced by a family-owned textile business in his district, stating that “Trump’s tariffs are hurting it by raising input prices. From the CEO: ‘We would ask for a sensible tariff policy that would benefit a company that has invested in domestic manufacturing, against the tide of our'”.

The following day, on September 6, 2025, Auchincloss addressed drug pricing disparities through pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). He wrote: “If bagels cost $7 in one market and $400 at another across the street, you’d ask the grocery managers some tough questions. Well, that’s Rx drugs under the control of the pharmacy benefit managers — the middlemen of drug pricing. You don’t see it directly b/c of their insurance”. He also shared an additional post linking to further information on this topic: https://t.co/XKhxIrsIfo.

Jake Auchincloss has represented Massachusetts’ 4th District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Joe Kennedy III. Before joining Congress, he served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and holds degrees from both Harvard University and MIT. Born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1988, Auchincloss continues to reside there.
