Jake Auchincloss, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 4th district, shared his views on a range of issues through a series of tweets. Auchincloss, who succeeded Joe Kennedy III in 2021, has been vocal about matters affecting both domestic and international policies.

On May 12, 2025, Rep. Auchincloss expressed concerns regarding attacks on university science programs, warning that such actions could have adverse effects on America’s economic strength and inadvertently benefit China. He stated “Attacking universities’ science will only make Americans poorer and China stronger.”

Later the same day, he commented on legislative developments concerning fiscal policy. He criticized a tax and spending bill for lacking bipartisanship due to what he described as the GOP’s debt expansion and cuts to healthcare services. In his words: “There was a tax & spending bill that could have been bipartisan. The GOP’s debt explosion & healthcare cuts are not it.” He also shared an insight into what he believed could have been achieved with bipartisan cooperation.

The following day, May 13, 2025, Rep. Auchincloss discussed trade relations with China by highlighting potential benefits of tariffs if implemented effectively. His tweet read: “Tariffs on China could work. Here’s how.”

Jake Auchincloss has served in Congress since 2021 after having worked in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and holds degrees from Harvard University and MIT.
