Rep. Jake Auchincloss, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 4th district, has recently shared his views on various pressing issues through social media posts. His statements touch upon concerns about privacy, healthcare practices, and innovation in Massachusetts.

On February 8, 2025, Rep. Auchincloss raised concerns regarding Elon Musk’s access to sensitive information. He stated that “Musk’s access to medical data, Social Security payments, and tax refunds violates Americans’ privacy and threatens Congress’s power of the purse.” Furthermore, he criticized Speaker Johnson for not leading an appropriate response under Article I.

In another post dated February 9, 2025, Rep. Auchincloss addressed the role of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in the opioid crisis. He noted that “First, the pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) pushed opioids onto prescribers, helping fuel the opioid epidemic.” He also pointed out their current practice of charging higher co-pays for non-addictive painkillers in Medicare.

On February 10, 2025, Rep. Auchincloss highlighted the importance of research institutions in Massachusetts. He remarked that “Research at scores of institutions like the Broad Institute, Boston Medical Center & the University of Massachusetts launches world-changing innovation.” This innovation is credited with creating jobs and elevating Massachusetts’ status on a global scale.
