Rep. Jake Auchincloss, a U.S. Congress member representing Massachusetts’ 4th district, has been vocal on social media about various political issues. In a series of tweets, he addressed topics ranging from political rhetoric to healthcare and government efficiency.

On May 14, 2025, Auchincloss commented on the use of “whataboutism” by certain members of the MAGA movement during town halls. He expressed skepticism about its effectiveness with the statement: “Whataboutism won’t work from MAGA Members in their town halls.”

The following day, May 15, 2025, Auchincloss turned his attention to healthcare costs. He argued against co-pays for prescription drugs by stating that patients do not need financial incentives to manage conditions like asthma. He remarked: “Co-pays for Rx drugs are not necessary because patients don’t need skin in the game for their asthma. No one overuses an inhaler.”

On May 16, 2025, Auchincloss addressed government efficiency and return on investment in regulatory roles within federal agencies. He criticized any potential dismissal of scientists at the FDA responsible for ensuring drug safety with this tweet: “Government efficiency is about return on investment. Firing the scientist at the FDA who makes sure eyedrops don’t blind Americans isn’t a good ROI.”

Jake Auchincloss has served in Congress since replacing Joe Kennedy III in 2021 and previously held office in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1988, he holds degrees from Harvard University and MIT.
