U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss, who serves Massachusetts’ 4th district, posted a series of tweets on March 10 and 11, 2026, criticizing the administration’s approach to foreign policy in Iran and proposing alternative strategies.

On March 10, Auchincloss wrote, “Arrogance makes bad strategy. The administration must explain & defend its approach to regime change. Instead, it’s assuming that it can bomb its way to better governance.”

Later that day, he commented on developments in Iran and their global repercussions: “Another Khamenei in power, Iran flexing in the Strait, and oil prices helping Russia & hurting Americans. Americans are watching politicians mistake military might for sound strategy, again. Congress must take back the steering wheel to establish bipartisan Iran policy. But the”

On March 11, Auchincloss suggested a specific course of action: “A sensible proposal to end the war with strategic leverage: Seize Kharg Island.”

Jake Auchincloss has represented Massachusetts’s 4th District in Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Kennedy III. He previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and holds degrees from Harvard University and MIT. Born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1988, Auchincloss currently resides there.
