Rep. Jake Auchincloss, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 4th district, has shared his views on various health-related issues through a series of tweets. These posts address topics such as school lunches, public health policy, and vaccine distribution.

On January 29, 2025, Rep. Auchincloss tweeted about the potential for “evidence-driven ‘outsiders’” to effectively manage healthier school lunch programs and reduce ultra-processed foods without reintroducing diseases like measles. He emphasized the importance of executing these agendas based on evidence rather than reverting to outdated practices. “There are thousands of evidence-driven ‘outsiders’ who could execute an agenda of healthier school lunches & less ultra-processed foods, without also bringing back measles.”

In another tweet posted on the same day, Auchincloss criticized RFK Jr.’s approach to public health issues. He argued that RFK Jr., as a potential HHS Secretary, would undermine scientific institutions such as the NIH, FDA, and CDC by prioritizing conspiracy theories over science. Auchincloss expressed concern that this could impede vaccine development and distribution efforts. “RFK, Jr approaches issues from a starting point of conspiracy, not science. As HHS Secretary, he will undermine the integrity of the NIH, the FDA, and the CDC. In particular, he will make it harder to develop & distribute vaccines.”

Later that day, Auchincloss responded to statements made by RFK Jr., describing them as falsehoods related to anti-vaccine rhetoric. He referenced RFK Jr.’s characterization of children’s deaths as a “natural experiment,” which Auchincloss labeled as part of an anti-vax crusade.“A lie. RFK Jr. called children’s deaths a “natural experiment” in his anti-vax crusade.”
