Jake Auchincloss, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 4th district since 2021, has shared his views on healthcare and regulatory matters through a series of tweets. Auchincloss succeeded Joe Kennedy III and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1988, he holds degrees from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

On May 13, 2025, Auchincloss tweeted about an upcoming marathon committee hearing where Republicans were expected to vote on healthcare legislation. He stated: “I’m walking to a marathon committee hearing where Republicans will vote to take away healthcare for 13.7 million Americans. They’ve been trying to do this for 15 years. Democrats are ready to have this fight again.”

Continuing his commentary on May 14, 2025, Auchincloss addressed the financial implications of removing individuals from Medicaid: “Kicking millions of Americans off Medicaid does not save money for the U.S. health system. It just transfers costs onto families who need at-home care or who get insurance through their employer. With the GOP’s bill, those families pay more for health care, and the ultra-rich pay”

Later that day, he expressed support for maintaining a robust Food & Drug Administration (FDA), noting its importance to biopharmaceutical companies: “Biopharma companies don’t want to see the Food & Drug Administration gutted. They want a strong, independent, and evidence-driven FDA.”
