Rep. Jake Auchincloss, U.S. Congressman representing Massachusetts’ 4th district since 2021, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing national security and science funding concerns.

On September 2, 2025, Auchincloss criticized the president’s decision to send military personnel to Los Angeles. He stated, “The president’s deployment of Marines to Los Angeles was not only unnecessary but illegal. They did not sweat and bleed in training to be used as political props.” He also encouraged readers to view his full op-ed for further details.

Two days later, on September 4, Auchincloss addressed an issue affecting researchers in his home state. He wrote, “The NIH is withholding funding from Massachusetts scientists. We’re going to fight back, secure the grants, and advance science.”

In another post on the same day, he commented on a recent Senate confirmation vote: “GOP senator votes to confirm anti-vaxxer, is shocked by anti-vax policy.”

Jake Auchincloss has served in Congress since replacing Joe Kennedy III in 2021 and previously held office in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Newton in 1988 and currently residing there at age 35, Auchincloss holds degrees from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
