Rep. Jake Auchincloss, who represents Massachusetts’ 4th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of national and international issues through a series of posts on his official X account on August 27 and 28, 2025.

On August 27, Auchincloss referenced an earlier opinion piece he wrote for The Wall Street Journal by stating, “My op-ed in The Wall Street Journal from last year: https://t.co/7aGc8GOO0f”.

In another post made the same day, Auchincloss urged both President Biden and former President Trump to take stronger action regarding Ukraine’s conflict with Russia. He wrote, “I said it to Biden & I say it to Trump: let Ukraine strike Russian oil sites. https://t.co/2QNPWxIsre”.

The following day, after news of a school shooting at the start of the academic year, Auchincloss called for renewed focus on gun policy rather than the motives behind such attacks. He posted on August 28: “New school year, new school shooting. Instead of wasting ink searching for a motive, which only serves this child murderer’s ego, the focus must be on gun policy. Easy access to guns is a choice, and it costs lives. https://t.co/Ho1FO17oKf”.

Jake Auchincloss has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Kennedy III as representative for Massachusetts’s 4th District and previously held office in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Newton in 1988 and currently residing there at age 35, Auchincloss holds degrees from Harvard University and MIT.
