Rep. Jake Auchincloss, who represents Massachusetts’ 4th district in the U.S. Congress and resides in Newton, has recently shared updates on his legislative activities and perspectives via social media.

On July 28, 2025, Auchincloss announced an upcoming event for constituents: “On Wednesday, July 30, I’ll be hosting a Congressional Update and Q&A in Newton from 7:30pm-9:00pm. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and hear updates on how I’m working to represent the district. RSVP here:” The post included a link for RSVPs.

The following day, July 29, he addressed the lingering effects of pandemic-era school closures: “The school closures were a catastrophe that is still with us. But no one wants to talk about it. Students need 1:1 tutoring, trade schools, phone-free schools — and much more.”

On July 30, Auchincloss commented on federal investment in science: “Funding science is a good investment. Every dollar spent returns multiples from which all Americans benefit, through higher standard of living, healthier families, and national defense. I am encouraged that the CBO is quantifying the bounty of science, as it will support Congress”

Jake Auchincloss has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Joe Kennedy III and previously held office in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Newton in 1988 and currently residing there, he holds degrees from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
