Jake Auchincloss, a U.S. Congressman representing Massachusetts’ 4th district since 2021, has recently addressed several pressing issues through his social media posts. Born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1988, Auchincloss has an educational background from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He replaced Joe Kennedy III in Congress and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
On June 1, 2025, Auchincloss expressed solidarity with Milford students and residents following the detention of a Milford High School junior by immigration officials. The student was detained on Saturday morning while driving teammates to a volleyball practice. Auchincloss noted that the student is “enrolled in honors classes” and serves as both a coaching assistant for girls’ volleyball and a player. “I joined Milford students & residents in solidarity after a Milford High School junior was detained by immigration officials on Saturday morning while driving teammates to a volleyball practice. He’s enrolled in honors classes, a coaching assistant for girls volleyball & player”.
On June 2, 2025, Auchincloss criticized RFK Jr.’s actions regarding autism research funding and reporting. He highlighted that RFK Jr. had canceled funding used by Harvard and MIT to study the molecular basis of autism and subsequently issued a report containing “made-up scientific notations.” “First: RFK Jr cancels funding that Harvard & MIT use to study the molecular basis of autism. Then: RFK Jr. issues a report on autism with made-up scientific notations.”
Later on June 2, Auchincloss addressed the surge in antisemitic incidents over the past decade, stating they have increased tenfold. He called for both political extremes—the DSA left and MAGA right—to confront their roles in mainstreaming antisemitism. “Antisemitic incidents have surged 10X in the last 10 years. The oldest hatred is the newest one, too. Both the DSA left and the MAGA right must confront their complicity in mainstreaming hatred of Jews.”
