The Harvard women’s water polo team won its second consecutive Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) title and earned a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, according to a May 12 announcement.

This achievement marks the first time in program history that Harvard has secured back-to-back CWPA championships and consecutive NCAA appearances. The team finished the season with a record of 26-4, opening with an 11-0 run and achieving two long winning streaks during the year.

The Crimson started their season with a historic pace, reaching a 19-1 record through their first 20 games—the best start in program history. Along this stretch, Harvard claimed its second regular-season title in as many years and clinched a first-round bye at the CWPA Championship for the first time.

After repeating as CWPA Champions, Harvard advanced to the NCAA Tournament following two overtime victories. The championship final featured senior captain Ella Schneider scoring the golden goal in the fourth sudden-victory period, ending what became the longest game in NCAA women’s water polo history. The team has now won four consecutive overtime playoff games at the CWPA Championship.

Looking ahead, most of this year’s championship roster is expected to return next season as Harvard aims for a third straight conference title.
