The Harvard-Radcliffe women’s lightweight rowing team retained the Beanpot and Muri Cup with victories on the Charles River, according to an April 18 announcement. The top-ranked squad’s varsity eight finished first with a time of 6:28.428, defeating Boston University by more than 17 seconds.

The event is significant as it highlights Harvard’s continued success in collegiate rowing competitions and their dominance in local regattas. Maintaining possession of both trophies reinforces the team’s standing among regional rivals.

The varsity eight, led by stroke Elle Krywosa, established an early lead despite choppy water conditions. Boston University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology competed closely for second place until the final stretch. Earlier in the day, Britt Wotovich and Stella Sweitzer represented Harvard in the double sculls event (2xA), while the novice boat stroked by Meena Behringer placed second against MIT and Gordon College.

Harvard secured its first win of the day in the varsity four A race, stroked by Michaela Darcy, narrowly defeating MIT with a time difference of one and a half seconds (7:30.6). The lineup for Harvard’s winning varsity eight included coxswain Lilly Ranalli along with Rikke Nielsen, Kristine Schwartz, Charlotte Paley, Jamie Reidy, Sisira Holbrook, Mary Mangan, and Hannah Marks.

Other results from Saturday included fourth place for Harvard in double sculls (8:04.602) behind BU (7:40.874), MIT (7:50.810), and Gordon (7:56.818). In novice fours competition, MIT took first place ahead of Harvard and Gordon.

Looking ahead, Radcliffe will conclude its regular season at home on April 25 against Tufts.
