Harvard men’s heavyweight rowing won the varsity race at the Eastern Sprints Regatta, securing its second straight Ivy League Championship, according to a May 20 announcement from the university.

The victory means Harvard’s varsity eight earned back-to-back All-Ivy First Team honors. The boat was coxed by Natalia Tomms and stroked by captain Ben Scott. Jack Dorney, Jordan Dykema, and Sam Woodgate were in the stern positions, with Alexander Grundy sitting fourth. Leo Bessler, Jack Hansen-Knarhoi, and bow Josh Brangan completed the lineup.

The program has now claimed 35 championships at the EARC Sprint Regatta. Head coach Charley Butt has led Harvard to three of those titles in 2014, 2025, and this year.

Looking ahead, Harvard will compete again at the IRA National Championships in Sacramento from May 29 to May 31.

Butt said he is proud of his team’s performance as they prepare for their next challenge.
