Seniors Maddie Hamm and Ashley Zilora of the Holy Cross women’s tennis team were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, according to a May 12 announcement.

The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. To qualify for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, nominees must have at least a 3.50 grade point average, be sophomores or above in both academic and athletic standing, and participate in at least 75 percent of their team’s competition days.

This marks the second time Hamm and Zilora have received this honor. Hamm, a political science major with a 3.87 GPA, recorded a singles record of 5-14 during the season while primarily playing at No. 4 singles. In doubles play, she posted an overall record of 7-13. She contributed an important win in singles during Holy Cross’s Patriot League Tournament First Round victory over Lafayette on April 16.

Zilora is a biology major who also achieved a GPA of 3.87. She finished the season with six singles wins—tied for second most on the team—and set a personal best with eight doubles victories this year. Zilora secured the match-clinching point in Holy Cross’s upset over Lafayette in the tournament’s first round, marking their first Patriot League Tournament win since 2016.

The College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-America program recognizes top student-athletes nationally across NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA divisions for their achievements on court and in academics.

Holy Cross ended its season with an overall record of four wins and sixteen losses.
