The Grafton Water District announced on May 22 that a water main break occurred on Fairlawn Street, affecting residents’ water service in the area. Crews were dispatched to the scene to address the issue, and repairs have since been completed.
Residents were advised that they might experience low water pressure or no water at all while repairs were underway. The district apologized for the inconvenience and said it was working diligently to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
After service was restored, officials reminded residents to flush their pipes before resuming normal use. “Please remember to Flush your pipes when resuming water use,” the district said. Residents may notice brown or discolored water due to the break, and are encouraged to run cold-water faucets—especially outdoor ones—for at least 15 to 20 minutes until the water runs clear.
During the repair process, residents were also asked to limit their water usage in order to minimize strain on the system.
The Grafton Water District thanked residents for their patience during this time. The organization emphasized its commitment to restoring full service and ensuring safe drinking water for all affected customers.
