A woman from Fall River has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for her involvement in a sex trafficking conspiracy. Cory Primo, 43, received a sentence of 70 months in prison and five years of supervised release from U.S. District Court Judge Angel Kelley. Primo was also ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution to three victims.

Primo pleaded guilty in August 2025 to one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. She was among six people charged in July 2024.

According to court documents, between April and August 2023, Primo worked with others to traffic an adult woman and two minors from Massachusetts. Primo admitted she began assisting her co-defendant with selling the victims because she was financially desperate. She sent photographs of the victims to buyers, communicated with buyers to arrange commercial sex acts, and negotiated prices. Primo reportedly joked about her actions by comparing them to “playing a game of Tetris.” She also encouraged another co-defendant to use violence against the victims and showed indifference toward their suffering as long as money continued coming in.

“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division; and Michael J. Krol, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England made the announcement.” The Somerset Police Department provided valuable assistance during the investigation.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Riley, Chief of the Human Trafficking & Civil Rights Unit, and Trial Attorney Francisco Zornosa of the Criminal Division prosecuted the case.
