Eighteen Warriors named to MAAC baseball All-Academic Team

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced on May 19 that eighteen players from the Merrimack Warriors men’s baseball team have been selected for the 2026 MAAC All-Academic Team, marking the second highest number of honorees among conference schools.

To qualify for the MAAC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must complete two semesters at their institution and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

The following Merrimack players were recognized: Jack Andrews, Oliver Barkal, Colby Barker, Michael Bradshaw, Campbell Cassidy, Logan Castellano, Matt DeShiro, Brian Downing, Joey Frammartino, Samuel Franco, Chris Goode, Jayden Hamilton, Nick Hunkele, Bobby Loper, Cam Marshall, James Nichols, Christian Scanlon and Owen Zadrozny. The list includes students from various academic backgrounds such as criminology and criminal justice; accounting; business administration in finance or sport management; exercise science; rehabilitation sciences; forensic science; undeclared health sciences and business.

The recognition highlights both athletic participation and academic achievement among members of the Warriors team. Earning a spot on this list demonstrates a commitment to success in the classroom as well as on the field.

Looking ahead for Merrimack baseball fans and athletes alike: The Warriors are set to begin play in the 2026 MAAC Conference Tournament this Wednesday at 3 p.m., facing Canisius.
