A Dominican national living unlawfully in Lawrence, Massachusetts, was sentenced in federal court for reentering the United States after being deported. Eddy Antonio Perdomo, 31, received a sentence of time served—about four months in prison—from U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris. Following his sentencing, Perdomo is now subject to deportation proceedings.

Perdomo had pleaded guilty in July 2025 to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien after being indicted by a federal grand jury the previous month. He was previously deported to the Dominican Republic on October 3, 2023, but returned to the United States without permission sometime after that date.

“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Patricia H. Hyde, Acting Field Office Director, Boston, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations; and Lawrence Police Chief Maurice Aguiler made the announcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.”
