A Brazilian national living in Framingham without legal status has been sentenced for conspiracy and dealing firearms without a license. Victor Santos DeSouza, 22, received a 14-month prison sentence from U.S. District Judge Richard G. Stearns. After serving his sentence, DeSouza will be subject to deportation.
DeSouza pleaded guilty in November 2025 to one count of conspiracy to engage in the business of dealing firearms without a license and one count of engaging in the business of dealing firearms without a license.
According to authorities, between May and August 2023, De Aguiar Ferreira sold two pistols—including one with a large capacity magazine—to a cooperating witness for cash, despite not having the required federal license.
The sentencing was announced by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Thomas Greco, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Boston Field Division; Michael J. Krol, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England; and Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director for Boston’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations.
“Valuable assistance was provided by the Massachusetts State Police and the Framingham and Revere Police Departments,” according to officials. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael J. Crowley and John Reynolds from the Organized Crime & Gang Unit.
