The Boston University lightweight rowing program announced on April 17 that it will compete in the 2026 Beanpot event against Harvard-Radcliffe and MIT on Saturday, April 18. The Terriers are seeking their eighth Beanpot title in the last nine seasons.

The event will feature five BU crews racing against Radcliffe and MIT, as well as lightweight teams from Gordon and Sacred Heart. Races begin at 8 a.m., with fans able to watch live coverage on ESPN+ or follow results online via HereNow.

According to the schedule, BU’s Lightweight Double “A” will face off first at 8:00 a.m., followed by other boat classes throughout the morning. The Lightweight 8 race is set for 9:30 a.m.

Last weekend, BU participated in the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The team earned four medals there, including wins in both the Second Varsity Eight and Women’s Double final. The Lightweight Eight took silver while the Lightweight Four placed third.

Saturday’s race marks BU’s final scheduled home event of the spring season on the Charles River. It also serves as a senior sendoff for eight athletes: Caroline Burchette, Catherine Clark, Ela Ersan, Elizabeth Falo-Yohn, Nora Hemsley, Kylie Lough, Zoe Meurer and Carly Milosevic.

In national rankings released earlier this week after Knecht Cup performances, BU’s Lightweight Eight moved up to fourth place in the Pocock CRCA Poll. Both its Lightweight Four and Double boats remain highly ranked as well.

Looking ahead beyond this weekend’s races, Boston University will compete next Saturday on both coasts—facing Stanford in California and taking part in another matchup against Rhode Island and Delaware at Lake Quinsigamond.
