A Boston man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his involvement in a violent gang. Wilter Rodrigues, 39, received his sentence from U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young on July 22, 2025. This follows his guilty plea in July 2024 to charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and cocaine base.

Rodrigues was identified as a member of Cameron Street, a gang based in Dorchester, Boston. The gang is known for using violence and threats to expand its territory and reputation. Court documents revealed that Rodrigues collaborated with two co-defendants to distribute drugs from an apartment in Somerville.

Rodrigues has a history of criminal activity, including a previous federal conviction for firearm possession and two state convictions for drug distribution offenses.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley along with other law enforcement officials including Bryan DiGirolamo of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; Jarod A. Forget of the Drug Enforcement Administration; and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox.

Assistance in the case came from various local law enforcement agencies across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher Pohl and Charles Dell’Anno are handling the prosecution.

This sentencing is part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Strike Force Initiative which focuses on dismantling major criminal organizations through multi-agency collaboration.

The remaining defendants in this case are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
