Boston College baseball lost to Georgia Tech by a score of 14-1 on May 15. The No. 23 Eagles, now with a record of 36-19 overall and 17-12 in conference play, were defeated by the No. 3 Yellow Jackets, who improved to 44-9 overall and 24-5 in conference.

The loss came during the second game of the weekend series held in Brighton, Massachusetts. Nick Wang hit his sixteenth home run of the season and reached his fortieth career home run milestone. He also recorded his sixty-first run batted in for the year.

Georgia Tech started scoring early with a solo home run from Jarren Advincula in the first inning. In response, Wang hit a double at an exit velocity of one hundred eleven miles per hour to left center field during Boston College’s first at-bat.

The Yellow Jackets extended their lead with another solo home run in the fifth inning but left bases loaded after Cesar Gonzalez forced a groundout to end that frame. After Georgia Tech added more runs in the sixth inning, Wang responded with a three hundred ninety-five foot solo homer for Boston College’s only run.

Georgia Tech continued their offense late into the game, adding eleven more runs over the last three innings and securing their victory.

Boston College will conclude its regular season against Georgia Tech tomorrow at noon on ACC Network. The team plans to recognize its senior class before the start of that final game.
