A Lynn resident and known member of the Bloods gang was sentenced to four years in federal prison for possessing a loaded machinegun, according to an announcement made in Boston. Delvyn Liriano, 19, received his sentence from U.S. District Court Judge Richard G. Stearns and will also serve two years of supervised release after his prison term.

Liriano pleaded guilty in May 2025 to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was indicted earlier that year on March 5.

Court records indicate that Liriano had previously been convicted of a felony firearm offense in 2023, which involved threatening a former girlfriend with a gun due to suspicions about her associations with rival gang members. At the time of his January 2025 arrest, he was on state probation related to this earlier conviction.

Authorities stated that in late December 2024, Liriano entered territory controlled by a rival gang with the intent to confront its members while armed. On January 3, 2025, law enforcement observed him leaving his residence in Everett carrying a black backpack. After stopping the vehicle for having a revoked registration due to lack of insurance, police found a loaded Glock Model 27 inside the backpack. The firearm had a selector switch attached, making it capable of fully automatic fire and classifying it as a machinegun under federal law. Officers also discovered images on Liriano’s cell phones showing him with other firearms.

“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division; and Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police made the announcement. Valuable assistance was provided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, Boston Field Division; the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office; and the Lynn, Malden and Everett Police Departments. Assistant U.S. Attorney Philip A. Mallard of the Organized Crime & Gang Unit prosecuted the case.”
