Harvard University announced on May 21 that 29 of its track and field student-athletes have qualified for the NCAA East Region First Round, which will take place in Lexington, Kentucky from Wednesday, May 27 to Saturday, May 30.
The event is an important stage in the collegiate track and field postseason. Qualifying athletes from both the men’s and women’s teams will compete for a chance to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The top twelve finishers in each event at the regional meet will move on to nationals.
Sixteen women from Harvard’s team are set to participate at the regional competition. Notable qualifiers include Ella Cooper, who was named Most Outstanding Women’s Track Athlete at the 2026 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships, and Marta Amani, who will compete in both relays and long jump events. Other qualifiers are Mfoniso Andrew, Fabiola Belibi, Kaelin Creagh, Abigail Dennis, Saige Forbes, Tyler Glover, Mickaila Haisley, Lilly Hodge, Molly Malague, Dylan McElhinney, Ella McRitchie, Jacklynn Okereke, Milina Wepiwé and Nadjela Wepiwé.
On the men’s side of competition are thirteen Crimson athletes including Tito Alofe—reigning NCAA Indoor Men’s High Jump National Champion—and distance runners Sam Burgess and Charlie Ortmans. Other men’s qualifiers are Hudson Allain (4x100m Relay), Jonas Clarke (4x100m), Timi Esan (100m/4x100m), Tam Gavenas (5000m), Cam Henry (4x100m Relay), LeRoy Horton (4x100m Relay), Joachim Johnson (Triple Jump), Oliver Parker (400 Hurdles), Harlow Tong (400m/4x100m Relay) and Amari Turner (200m/4x100m Relay).
